Why I Think Calisthenics is Better Than the Gym in Nigeria
I've been working out for a few years now, and I've tried both the gym and calisthenics. I've found that I much prefer calisthenics. Here are a few reasons why:
Calisthenics is low cost.
One of the biggest advantages of calisthenics is that it's very low cost. All you need is your own body weight. This is especially important in Nigeria, where gym memberships can be quite expensive. The least gym membership fee in Ile-Ife for example, is 10,000 naira, and the average person makes less than 50,000 monthly.
Calisthenics is flexible.
Another advantage of calisthenics is that it's very flexible. You can do it anywhere, at any time. This is great for people who have busy schedules or who don't have time to go to the gym. The common working hours of gym are 7am to 12pm for morning session, 4pm to 7pm for evening session. During these hours, most Nigerians will be out looking for their daily bread.
Calisthenics is good for strength-to-body ratio maintenance.
Calisthenics is also very good for maintaining a good strength-to-body ratio. This is important for overall health and fitness of those particularly looking forward to lose weight.
Gym is expensive in Nigeria.
Gym memberships in Nigeria can be quite expensive. This can be a barrier to entry for many people who want to get in shape.
Gym time is not flexible.
Gyms typically have set hours. This can be a problem for people who have busy schedules or who want to work out late at night.
Public opinion can be challenging for fat people in gyms.
Unfortunately, public opinion can be challenging for fat people in gyms. Some people may make negative comments or stare at you. This can make it uncomfortable for some people to go to the gym.
My personal experience
I've had both good and bad experiences at the gym. I've met some great people at the gym, and I've also had some negative experiences. I once had a guy make a rude comment about my lean body. It was quite embarrassing and made me feel uncomfortable.
I started doing calisthenics about 8 years ago. I was initially skeptical, but I've been very impressed with the results. I'm stronger, more flexible, and have lost weight. I also feel much more confident in my body.
I encourage you to try calisthenics
If you're looking for a low-cost, flexible, and effective way to get in shape, I encourage you to try calisthenics. You won't be disappointed.
I hope this blog post is helpful. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Additional thoughts
In addition to the points mentioned above, I would also like to add that calisthenics is a great way to meet people. There are many calisthenics communities online and in person. This can be a great way to make new friends and stay motivated.
I would also like to emphasize that calisthenics is not for everyone. If you have any injuries or health problems, it is important to consult with a doctor before starting a new workout routine.
Overall, I believe that calisthenics is a great option for people who want to get in shape and stay healthy. It is low cost, flexible, and effective. I encourage you to give it a try!
Emphasis on workout routine!
I would also like to add that it is important to find a workout routine that you enjoy. If you don't enjoy your workouts, you are less likely to stick with them. There are many different calisthenics workouts available online and in books. Experiment with different routines until you find one that you like.
I would also like to encourage you to be patient. It takes time to see results from any workout routine. Don't get discouraged if you don't see results immediately. Just keep at it and you will eventually see progress.
Finally, I would like to remind you that the most important thing is to simply get moving. Whether you choose calisthenics, the gym, or another form of exercise, the important thing is to find something that you enjoy and that gets you active.
Set realistic goals!
I would also like to add that it is important to set realistic goals. Don't try to do too much too soon. Start slowly and gradually increase the intensity of your workouts.
I would also like to encourage you to remind you that exercise is not just about physical health. It is also about mental and emotional health. Exercise can help to reduce stress, improve mood, and boost self-esteem.
A workout buddy won't hurt!
I would also like to add that it is important to find a workout buddy. Having someone to work out with can help you to stay motivated and accountable.
I would also like to encourage you to track your progress. This can help you to see how far you've come remind you that the most important thing is to have fun. Exercise should be enjoyable. If you're not having fun,
you're less likely to stick with it.
I hope you have a fantastic day!
